Silent electric-powered boats Edam

From Easter to mid-October, you can hire (for one hour) an electric-powered boat to sail through the canals of Edam yourself. Get to know Edam at your own pace using these silent, environmentally friendly boats which are named after famous residents of the city.  You don’t need sailing experience as the boats are easy to manoeuvre. But even though the boats are stable and unsinkable, it’s important to sail carefully as there are other boats on the water. 

Along with the keys, you’ll receive a brief manual with operating instructions and a map which highlights the things to look out for along your tour. Lifejackets are mandatory for children and can be rented for a small fee.

There is space for a maximum of 7 people per boat. Route maps and life jackets are provided.The route through historic Edam takes 1 hour. When you book 2 or 3 hours, you can, for example, sail a part of the ring canal and / or stop somewhere for lunch / drinks / swimming. (Please consult at the start regarding bridges to be passed). The costs are € 30 per boat per hour. Payment can be made cash or card.
