This is considered to be the town centre. Walk up onto the Dam and take a seat on one of the benches - there is a lot to see. If you orientate yourself with the Carillon to the west, you can see on the northern side of the Dam Edam's oldest brick house, the Edam Museum. To the east is a picturesque view along the Voorhaven (Main Harbour). Dam Square is surrounded by the Town Hall (where you find the Tourist Information, VVV). The former Post Office (now gallery) and the former ‘Butter Hall’ are next to the Dam Hotel.
