Shopping in the streets of Edam & Volendam

The city of Edam and the village of Volendam are two places full of history and charm. There are many reasons to visit the region. While you are there, it might be fun to go shopping for a few hours in addition to discovering the city.  There is no shortage of shopping opportunities. I would like to tell you more about it.

Shopping in Edam

When I go shopping in Edam, I usually need something, but if you are staying in Edam, it is certainly nice to step into a shop while you discover the city. My favorite store in Edam is t pakhuys. This is a bookstore on the Lingerzijde. As an avid reader, my heart skips a beat in this shop.

If you like art & antiques, it is nice to step inside Wilhelmina Dutch. This is a small shop in the center of Edam where Delft blue, paintings with Dutch scenes, antiques and modern art can be found.

For a flower or a beautiful vase, you go to Sas floriste, for clothing and footwear you are at the right place at Gunther shoes.

At bakery Kaandorp or at Mastenbroek you can get a sweet treat or a delicious freshly baked sandwich.  I personally find the cakes from Mastenbroek to die for.

My friend loves to cook. You cannot get him out of the nice kitchen shop in the heart of Edam. Here you can find everything for the cooking enthusiast. From food processors to spices.

Of course, a souvenir from Edam should not be missed. For that you go to Jorritsma Souvenirs & Jewelry. A small cozy cozy shop where you can certainly find a nice souvenir.

Shopping in Volendam

As a born and raised Volendam native, I naturally prefer to shop in my own village and therefore I know everything about this. Coincidentally, I myself work for a store in Volendam in the webshop.  This shop, Topsy fashion for the world is located in the center near the harbor. Only women's clothing is sold here. A large store where you can go with your girlfriends to shop.

Centre & the Dike of Volendam

In the center on and around the Dike of Volendam there are many different shops. From jewellers to a supermarket and from a drugstore to decoration and souvenir shops. There are more than ten women's clothing stores and also for men there are 5 clothing stores where you can shop. The shops in the center of Volendam are open 7 days a week, so the opportunity to shop is always there. If it rains, there is no problem because the Havenhof shopping center is covered.

Various souvenir shops can be found on the dike itself. Here you can get a souvenir of Volendam in all shapes and sizes. At Todays Giftshop you have a wide choice of souvenirs and at the Dutch market you can also score a few tasty pancakes in addition to the souvenirs.  Also at Souvenir & Giftshop S. Tol, Többen Gifts and Souvenirs and at souvenirs Jonk keizer you come home with a nice present.

If you are looking for a nice shiny gift or if you want to have something beautiful measured yourself, then Juwelier piet schilder or juwelier schilder vlught is a must go.

A little further away on the Julianaweg is a complete residential boulevard with more than 30,000 m2 of living pleasure. Here you will find everything in the field of living, from kitchens to wallpaper.

Shopping Malls in Volendam

In addition, there are two shopping centers in Volendam where you can shop. The Van Baarstraat is a long shopping street where you can find clothing stores, drugstores, one supermarket, a liquor store, a shoe store, the butcher, bakery and other various shops. This is certainly a street that you should not miss just for the cosiness.

De Stient is a shopping center located on the other side of Volendam. The shops in this center are formed in a circle so that you as a customer also walk in a circle so you can see every shop.  Here you can find clothing stores, one supermarket, one butcher, one bakery, drugstores and even a pet shop.
